Using Our Internet Computers
To gain access to our computers, you will need your library card.
There are 22 internet computers available for public use at the library.
All sessions start with a length of 60 minutes. If no one is waiting to use a computer, your session may be extended.
Adults have their own computer lab that allows access to unfiltered computers. Due to Michigan Law, anyone under the age of 18 is restricted from using these computers. Those under the age of 18 may use one of the many filtered computers provided throughout the building. Wireless internet is also available in our building.
What if I don't have a library card?
If you do not have a library card, you can get one by showing a valid picture ID that shows that you live in Independence Township to someone at the circulation desk.
What if I don't live in Independence Township?
If you are a Non-Resident and your home library is a member of The Library Network or if they participate in the Michicard Program, you can show your library card and valid picture ID to a member of our circulation staff to have your card entered into our system. This will allow you to access our internet computers with your card as well an enable you to check out materials.
What if these options do not work for me?
If you are not a resident of Independence Township or another qualifying library, you can still use our internet computers. Stop at the Reference Desk and ask for a Guest Pass. You are allowed one Guest Pass Per Day. This pass will enable you to access the internet and print, but it will not allow your session to be extended beyond 90 minutes.
Does the library offer Wireless Printing?
Yes! You can easily connect to our printing system from your portable computer and use any of the payment options normally available when printing from Library computers. (Please note, Windows 7 computers are not supported at this time)
Click on the link below to start the auto-installer. After the auto-installer completes, a Print Client will open on your machine.
When you are finished and press close or shutdown your computer, the application will disappear.

How Much Does Printing Cost?
Black and White copies cost $.10 per page and Color Copies cost $.25 per page.
